The view of the harbor from the other side of my balcony, which shows a Bahamas-registered liner in dock.
The touristy part of the dock area was a lot like Nassau - a gaggle of small shops and stalls, but there was a small complex of larger stores, bars and restaurants.
Tourists usually opt for the beaches or excursions. I, however, didn't want to go to the beach (Greenpeace tries to push me back in the water if they see me) and had no interest in swimming with dolphins or swimming with pigs.
Yes, that's a thing.
So, equipped with a jeep and a hand-annotated tourist map, I sallied forth for Lucayan National Park.

Did this cruise about five years ago myself. On Freeport I stayed in the little area next to the dock. Got a nice personalized mahogany "cane" (it's five feet long so more of a staff or walking stick) as a souvenir. On Nassau I did go to the beach though. Didn't swim with any animals, but I did get in the water. Was interesting being in water clear enough to see my feet and the fish swimming around them.
Hope you enjoyed your cruise.
