the can itself was never a problem but as 'trash day' is once a week, mom would often sit a paper grocery bag next to the can for additional garbage once the can was full... that's what they always got.
One day we came home and found that the kittens discovered the big bag containing plastic grocery bags and had covered the floor in them.
