Clickety-clack reviews: wooden railway breakdown train
Well guys, after quite a while, here is another review. Let's go.
My history: I had the breakdown train as a child, but it wasn't in very good shape. The magnet on the crane was gone leaving just the shell, and the flatbed was missing. A few years after that the string snapped and I replaced it with a rubber band. I don't have that model anymore, but recently I bought a new breakdown train off eBay. The one I bought (which is the one in the pic above) is the 2001 version with the name on the bottom. I love this thing, and had a lot of fun with it.
Pros:
1: I thought the magnet wouldn't be very powerful, but the magnet is stronger than it looks.
.
2: the simplicity of this model is charming. There aren't any details, but the yellow arm and the metallic green coat of paint make this model unique
Cons:
1: the sting on this model is too long, meaning I can't use it to pick up cargo.
2: this is a common complaint, but the flatbed is only used to keep the crane in place. You can't really use it to hold engines.
Final score: 8/10 a great model with few flaws.
