Been a bit of a lul of GW2 writing interest lately but someone asked how I see the Inquest Ranks so heeeere ya go. Hopefully more full profiles soon of my GW2 Peeps. Don't think this is like an Inquest or Asura law now just how I see them and how I often have my Asura talk about different jobs.

Interns, Overseers, Directors, oh my!
I'm sure you are ok Sis and not in any sort of danger again. But an update would not go amiss. But this is stuff I know, at least I really hope you do, you know but I've been asked several times by new Krewe members how Inquest rankings work and I've run out of Pamplets. So while waiting for a new stack of those to be printed for me I've decided to make my own! As such once I finish writing this down I'll be printing them out and then cutting them out. Thank goodness Mom and Dad left that poster cutter here from a few years ago. We...well I will finally get some use out of it.
Feel free to ignore most of this message but I hope you are alright;
So you have questions about the Rascals in Red? The Boys in Black? And how we classify each other because as Asura and as Inquest especially we love to have our Pyramids of Power. Our Totems of Hierarchy. So first a little reminder of how Rata Sum is with the spread of power.
RataS Power, low to high;
+ Golems
+ Progeny*
+ Citizens - as in those that have completed schooling and are currently part of the work force.
+ College Attendees - Those that are currently in the system have a better chance of making a change.
+ Krewe Members - Being in a Krewe regardless of their clout gives you a good amount of respect.
+ Peacemaker Grounder - Patrol and beat officers, often younger Asura.
+ Peacemaker Officer - Experienced Peacemakers, you know who to go to if you need help.
+ Shop or Buisness Owner - A successful and hopefully wealthy member of society! Here to make donations or suggestions of City work.
+ Krewe Chief - Others know you are successful, and listen when you offer advice.
+ Peacemaker Chief - You've seen everything from golem rampages to Charr Asura Barbeques. People know your name.
+ Councilor
+ High Councilor
* Meaning they have little personal power to deal with city affairs. But have a large degree of protection in our laws regardless.
If any questions are had please feel free to direct them to an Inquest with blue in their uniform to signify a member of PR. Although our friends the Peacemakers should be able to expand on anything above should you wish to ask them. But this was mainly about the Inquest and our chain of command. So we will now move onto them.
Inquest Power, low to High
++ Special mention, Golems can be in any position on this list, from the bottom for a cleaning probe to right under the top of they happen to be the personal Golem of a certain individual.
+ Interns - Very new inclusions to the Inquest team. We appreciate their enthusiasm but they are often inexperienced and so need to be carefully guided.
+ Data Entry - Those Inquest that perform the often thankless job of inputting all the test results into our system. Thank you all for the wonderful work!
+ PR Department - While we may not have much personal power we have an important duty to be the face of the Inquest in Rata Sum!
+ Construction Specialists - Architects and draftasura as well as the welders and constructors that construct buildings and none specialized projects.
+ Team Member - The Regular rank and file Asura, past Intern and onto a specific team. Be that a research or a defense team. Several teams are part of the larger Special Teams but not directly reckongised as such. You could think of them as junior teams. This means that not every Infiltration Agent is a member of the Infiltration Special Team for example.
+ Security - The Inquest that maintain order in between separate Teams and in our labs. Most teams have at least some of these in them.
+ Researcher - The members of teams who run and record tests. Often the ones overseeing its process as the Team Members run it for them directly.
+ Special Teams Member - STM's are ground level workers but part of larger departments that have a lot more clout than a normal team. Such teams can include but are not limited to; Infiltration, Information, Weaponization, Golem Intelligence, Meta-Magic, Nutrition, Botany, and Zoology.
+ Team Leader/Manager - Leaders of smaller teams that could possibly be up for a Promotion either of the two lower positions.
+ Directors - Leaders and organizers of several different Teams. There are often several of these per location that often compile reports and request forms for the Bosses above them to ensure efficiency across the various Inquest Departments.
+ Special Team Boss - STB's are very respected Asura that have shown considerable skill in being able to lead one of our larger departments. Several of them have been there for years and have shown great skill in maintaining their positions with continued successes. These are not often at individual bases or large labs like Directors but tend to move around to observe and delegate work to the various different Special Teams they command.
+ Councilor - Those Asura that are on the Arcane Council. They need to be very efficient in their job to pass on the reports from the Bosses and desires from the rest of the Asura race.
+ Overseer - Similar to Directors the Overseers act as a direct bridge between the various locations of Inquest Operation and the Inquest Council. Often presiding over for example Kryta or Ascalon. Large areas of operations with a lot of information coming in both good and bad. These highly specialized and knowlegde filled Asura ensure our various locations throughout Tyria stay connected and working toward the betterment of Asura kind. I believe Magumma has two Overseers at least. One mainly for Rata Sum and one for the greater Maguuma area. Overseers also often work on getting the funding for their specific part of the world and then let their Managers spread it out among the Teams.
+ Grand Councilor - I am unsure as to if this position is currently being used as its often debated among most Inquest is these are really needed. As the Overseers often communicate fairly regularly about the work being doing so a specialized position to take all of these reports and then discuss it in a group seems un-needed. But it has been a position in the past at least. They would also elect a new GI should the need ever arise.
+ Grand Inquisitor - The big leader themselves. Kudu was the last Asura that I know of that held this position, May he master the Eternal Alchemy while being a part of it. But they are the final decision maker in the Inquest. The one that decides the direction of the Inquest. Their decisions can never be questioned.
That should work for a small pamphlet right? I'm open to suggestions Kizz if you have any...though I am slightly embarrassed to admit that I don't know if we have a Grand Inquisitor anymore? Since Kudu died have we gotten a new one? Or are the Overseers just running the show for us?
