Sleeping Dragon
Darion learns the hard way that you really should follow the rules when using magitek devices, especially ones designed to encase you like a sleep sack.
This isn't the usual type of story that I write. Rather than a TF story like usual, this is more of a bondage/entrapment story. However, a friend of mine requested it, so I figured I would give it a try. :)
As usual, I am using Darion as my punching bag for the story, lol! He has sort of become my go-to character for any situation involving a human male. I really should be kinder to him ^^
I decided to vaguely use the magitec idea from Shared Identity in this story, and the stuff that happens here is -in theory- stuff that could actually happen in that setting. There is a reason why wild magic is banned! Hopefully Darion will be able to get free once he is well rested.

“I can’t believe I ordered this thing,” Darion said to himself as he looked over the large object that had taken over his bed. It was a huge magitek sleep sack which stood out in sharp contrast to the various dragon themed pictures and figurines which decorated his room. The device had a shiny black outer surface and was roughly human shaped with an openable seam along its top. It was sort of like a sleeping bag, but more form fitting and filled with magitechnology which would make it adjust to its occupant. A basic neural link allowed it to detect a person’s comfort level and open and close on command. Supposedly, it could even reshape itself to form pillows and change its outer surface to match its user’s favorite color.
A friend had suggested to Darion that getting this thing might help him sleep better. Lately, he had been so anxious about problems at work that he had been barely getting any sleep, which of course just made everything worse at work the next day. Supposedly, the combination of immobilization and comfort that these sleep sacks offered would help, but Darion couldn’t help but think that the whole thing seemed weird.
Now that he had the thing, he figured that he had to at least give it a try. Darion sighed and began searching for a spare magicite power crystal that he could plug into the thing to power it. After several minutes of searching, he realized to his dismay that all of his crystals were already plugged into various devices throughout his house. All except for one.
Darion hesitantly pulled the yellow crystal out of its hiding place and held it up to the light. Unlike the “regulated” crystals that were supposed to be used to power magitek devices, this one had more than a little unprocessed mana in it. This ‘wild mana’ was more powerful than the processed stuff, and basically supercharged any magitek device that it was plugged into so that it would work better. Automatic vacuums would clean faster, autocooks would prepare food better, and virtual reality games would feel more real. Crystals imbued with wild mana were banned because they supposedly caused unpredictable magical events, but tons of people used them anyway because they were incredibly useful.
Figuring that the sleep sack would probably be even more comfortable with a little extra boost, Darion slid the magicite into place in the thing’s chest. The crystal began to glow, and a yellow light spread through the magitek devices circuits and runes. Seeing no signs of an overload, he decided to get ready for bed so he could see if the thing actually helped him sleep any better.
About ten minutes later, Darion came back to find that the sleep sack lying open on his bed. For a moment he started at the thing in confusion, since he very clearly remembered that it had been closed when he last saw it, but decided that it must have been one of the suit’s newly enhanced features. Wild magic crystals tended to make the devices they were plugged into slightly “smarter”, enabling them to follow instructions and adapt to situations better.
Glancing at the clock and seeing that it was already late, Darion climbed onto his bed and began crawling feet first into the sleep sack’s opening. The thing’s insides were pleasantly soft and padded, like a thick blanket. Once he had fully slid inside, he laid down and tried to make himself comfortable.
A slight electric shock at the base of Darion’s neck made him gasp in surprise, but he made himself stay still when he remembered the sleep sack’s neural connection. The shock was probably a sign that it had formed a connection to him. Sure enough, the sleep sack began closing shut around his body. Slowly and gently, the opening that Darion had climbed into closed, sealing him within and leaving only his head visible.
The sleep sack adjusted itself around Darion’s body, hugging him tighter. It was like being in a form fitting sleeping bag, and he had to admit that it actually felt quite comfortable. Once it had fit itself to him, part of the sleep sack slid under his head and began shaping into a pillow. Darion couldn’t help but yawn as he found himself begin drifting off.
Before he fell asleep, however, he suddenly realized that he had forgotten to floss. Groaning, not wanting to get out of the comfortable sleep sack but feeling that he needed to get this chore done, he tried to pull himself out of the sleep sack. Instead of being able to pull himself out, he was surprised to find that the sleep sack was surprisingly stiff. In fact, it seemed like he could only move his neck, and since the thing had closed around his shoulders there was no way to pull himself out.
The realization that he was trapped made Darion begin worrying that maybe this hadn’t been a great idea, but remembering that the sleep sack was supposed to respond to his commands he began mentally telling it to let him out. To his relief, he felt the thing begin slowly shifting around him. He had been worrying over nothing it seemed, the thing was working exactly how it was supposed to. However, his relief faded when he realized that instead of getting looser, the sleep sack was becoming even more snug around him.
At this point, Darion began to panic. He began struggling to get out of the sleep sack on his own, hoping to force the thing to open by sheer strength. However, no matter what he did, he could barely get the thing to do more that rock slightly back and forth. He was sure that the thing had not been so rigid before, and now he was beginning to fear that the wild mana crystal was causing it to malfunction somehow.
As if in response to his struggles, the sleep sack began reshaping. His arms and legs were quickly separated into their own pockets, making it even harder for Darion to move. At this point the devices’ plushy insides were squeezing against every inch of his body, and despite the situation he was in he couldn’t help but feel strangely comfortable.
The electrical feeling at the base of Darion’s neck began to increase, and a strange sensation began going through his head. It was hard to describe, but it felt as if… something was looking through his mind. Darion tried to pull himself away from the neural sensor below his neck, but it felt like some sort of collar had formed around his neck so that he couldn’t break the connection. Why was it so interested in looking through his head?
As if to answer his question, the sleep sack began shifting around him again. Its previously black color began to turn brown, and then into a bright coppery orange. Pale, cream colored scale-like shapes began forming over its chest area. It only took a moment for Darion to recognize what was happening: it was mimicking his dragonsona, Draythix. The copper colored dragon has been extremely precious to him for years, but he couldn’t even fathom why the malfunctioning device would be trying to mimic his character.
The sleep sack’s transformation continued. The sections that had trapped his arms spread out into wing-like shapes, then moved so that they were covering Darion’s chest. It looked as if… his dragonsona was embracing him. He couldn’t help but feel a bit emotional at the sight he was seeing. Somehow, it gave the impression that his dragonsona was protecting him to help him sleep.
In fact, the sleep sack itself was feeling so comfortable now Darion that found himself starting to relax more instead of fighting to get out of the thing. The way it was hugging him so tightly and preventing him from moving actually felt kind of soothing.
Distantly, Darion noted that he could still “feel” neural link tingling behind his neck, and he wondered if it was influencing him somehow. For a moment he tried to resist the topor that was overcoming him, but all thoughts of struggle quickly slipped away as the draconic sleep sack pulled its wings more tightly around him. As Darion drifted to sleep, he was only faintly aware of the dragon shaped mask slowly slid over his face.
