That's what they call quality writing!
The guy was raised during times when employers got away with harsher stuff, not even touching on the more traditionist views he has. That said, he knows about what he is talking about, can give good advice and is extremely competent (the guy outdid his employees with abacus when they were lagging behind with modern computers). He has every right to believe what he believes, even if it ends up making him a giant asshole.
And that's why Aggretsuko is so great!

They aren't, but can be viewed as such.
Tsunoda is the suck up whose demeanor has been readily antagonized by Retsuko and her friends. Then we learn she knows people don't like her, but she doesn't care, and believes her action are ultimately beneficial.
Resasuke is essentially the example of bad relationship, being completely oblivious to how Retsuko feels, to the point of ignoring how much she was hurting. And after she tried to tell him upfront about it, he is as clueless as ever. That said, he really is just socially awkward, and didn't mean to hurt anyone.
Also, even if he is essentially "not a bad option", like completely inoffensive, she wouldn't have been happy with him, so they needed to break up.
So, there aren't really "villains" (that's why in quotes), just adult conflicts.

Except Anai is an example of someone who's been dumped into the world of adulthood without any sort of foresight or planning, and that he was afraid to try because he might fail. Spectacularly. Yes, he still did things that weren't acceptable in a workplace environment (him bullying his coworkers by threatening to report them as bullies to upper management), Kabai really was the best person to help get him an attitude adjustment because she saw that he was still a child finding his footing.
A better artwork would show someone calling him out for his old behavior or him apologizing for the way he initially acted.

Well, actually, I do sort of have a backstory for the pic. It involves Retsuko deciding to enlist Benny as her bodyguard after one too many insults and bullying instances from Ton.
The idea sort of came from a chat I had with Benny months before this was commissioned.
