So here's the working pattern for a possible watermark that I'm going to be putting on my stuff from here on in. :)
There's this guy- he's cool- and he has a LASER- which is also cool, and he's offering to make teeny rubber stamps for folks as a way to fine-tune the thing for similar tasks. Some of you might know him:
of Monocerous Media- they same folks who did the big photo-shoots at FC last year (and many years leading up to that, apparently). Anyway, he's a pretty neat character, that one- get this: he makes stuff like this because IT'S INTERESTING. How cool is that... This guy should be in the Toy Soldiers, with a rationale like that. >^___^<
Kani sez this little dragon looks like a Pokemon... I disagree, but he's having fun bugging me by singing the danged theme-song... Heh.
If the image seems pixely and small, it's because the original is only 2" square.

That is an unbeleavably lovely design. its smooth, flowing, well proportioned and emotive.
I know another dragon with a laser who does the same thing, too (thouh he's in the uk so shipping would be a fair bit more).
Anyway, a great watermark that'd actualy wouldn't detract from anything you put it on!

Thanks so much! I'm not always sure of my graphic skills when it comes to making something simple (go figure). Doing a tiny, graphic like this, that has to be not only visible, but easily recognized, is something I often admire other designers for. There are some beautifully-done symbols out there that just work. Take Apple's little logo- so clean, a VERY simplistic design, but everyone knows what it is and who it's for. :)
I actually don't have any templates- I make everything cold and by trial and error- with a lot of error! *chuckles* If you're wanting
to make you a stamp based on your design, he does all the scaling. But a good guideline for printing is 200 to 300 dpi (that's "dots per inch") and make your image in a scalable size (anything with an easily-divided, even count, like 4" X 4", for example). That's how I did this one- it's 200 dpi and only 2" x 2", since the final stamp is only going to be 3/4 of an inch in diameter.
One way I make sure my wee little pattern will look good before sending it anywhere, is to use the magnifier tool and shrink the image to roughly the size it will be in real life (thus the need for a simple, easy to scale image size ratio)- if it doesn't look clear enough, it means you'll need to simplify your design more and make each line clearer. One thing I've noticed, lines of only 2 pixels will often be too small or break up for a pattern like this, so all my lines are at least 3 pixels or higher. I had to fight with that with this little thingy and with the badge-design I gave to the Further confusion folks. :) Like I said, I'm not very good at doing things in super small. Yet, most of my actual art is less than standard letter size in dimensions. Heck, a lot of my art sits in the "just larger than a regular postcard" size. :P

*grins, and enjoys a challenge - as you know! He nomnoms warmly on you as he snuggles close*
Hee. I'm just being a Doctor Who geek, dear! The Seal of Rassilon is the "Time Lord" symbol... it's on this page here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rassilon. And your design is original, most certainly! It just put me in mind of this.
*purrpurrs and then gah! at the rumpswat* Why you --- *giggles and pounces you, laughing joyously*
