This is something that came about in my mind while watching 'Life after People' A show about how the world will go on once mankind fades from history.
This brought on the thought..."What if someone were left alone?"
Obviously these two have each other, but how lonely they must be to be the only people left in an aging world without their kin.

Well...in my head, I had the story of two total strangers meet each other near the city ruins. The unmasked one simply wonders from place to place knowing not what to do in this world without others, even less so once he finally meets someone, let alone speak. The one in the mask continually risks his/her life on a day to day basis to survive and learn of what happened and what he/she might be able to do about it. Most of the places that may hold knowledge of what happened are dangerous, such as power plants, nuclear facilities, aging buildings that a falling apart.
Most of man kind has long since gone, with no one to take care of what we left behind, nature works to take back the world. Almost every building is now a green house; the streets have now flooded and have become canals, wild life runs amuck in the once urban jungle. Buildings fall apart as water seeps into concrete and rusts their metal skeletons.
This is a world with a fading memory of mankind.
(Sorry, I got carries away)
