Morrigi actually use columns like that as control centers and pedestals, as it offers much more control space per talon/hand versus say a sedentary computer or the like. Not that they can't use them, but they are much more adept at controlling their machines when they can have many more inputs!

Oooooh, so it's fantastical anatomy with a bit of added adapted practicality? I love that. It sounds like there's a good bit of well-thought lore behind the Morrigi, though I'm still gonna call them twisty birds~
