My final 'photo-op' of 2009 features me (left) with professional cartoonist Bill Holbrook - the man behind syndicated comic strips "On The Fastrack" and "Safe Havens", and the very popular anthropomorphic webcomic "Kevin & Kell".
This particular photo was taken at "AnthroCon 2001" in Philadelphia at the Adam's Mark Hotel (which no longer exists, sad to say). Bill was nice enough to render a drawing of the title spouses - Kevin (a male rabbit) and Kell (a female wolf) - in my giant black sketchbook. I'd bought a number of his paperback comic anthology books in return.
You can check out "Kevin & Kell" by going to http://www.kevinandkell.com/ . As for his other two strips, go to http://comics.john-m-moore.com/ and scroll down until you've found "Safe Havens" and "On The Fastrack". Each of these strips also has the occasional talking animal character in them!

Well, Gene, you have an easier opportunity to meet people like Mr. Holbrook, since you've attended more 'furry cons' than I have. In fact, AnthroCon 2001 was the last out-of-state convention of this type I'd been to. All of the others I'd attended since then were in Florida.
