My father passed away October 12th, 2012.

"Every tear that I shed, is a symbol of my love for you."

There is a fun little story I have to leave with this touching tribute.

I attended my first furry convention in 2012 - and after returning from a long weekend summer trip to Megaplex... I decided I really couldn't hide this furry thing anymore. I wanted to be a furry, I wanted to get a fursuit, and I knew this stuff couldn't be hidden in my house and I didn't want to hide it from my dad.

Him and I were best friends after all!

So I came home and found my dad reading his Bible like he always enjoyed in his spare time, and I said "hey dad, can I talk to you about something?"

"Sure son, what's up?"

"Dad, there is something that i've... been hiding from you. Its been a big part of my life, and I feel like I need to let you know... "

At this point my dad closed his Bible and stopped me.

"Son, I am going to let you know, I dont care if you are gay. I love you, and I will always love you. Sure... I may be a little disappointed for a while... but I love you, and if you have a boyfriend I want to meet him - so I can love him too."

Mind you, I was completely straight at the time, and my dad's disappointment was more about not having grand kids.

"Dad... that's awesome. Im a furry"

So that began a long conversation about what a furry is.

"Son... I dont get it. I probably wont ever understand why you like this stuff. But if you are into it, then I support you, no matter what."

I love you dad, until we meet again.
