Some of you may recall how in the comic, "I.S.O.", Jake and Zach were very good buddies/benefriends until Zach started going steady with Jake's female cousin, Allie. While Jake and Zach remained on good terms, they both acknowledged that their friendship couldn't quite be the same. Jake wouldn't make demands on Zach, and would respect when the skunk needs to take time to be with his girlfriend.
Still, with his best buddy not around as much, not to mention being stuck with a roommate he can barely stand, things aren't looking so well for the blond wolf...
...that is, until he discovers a new playmate.
In my fanfic, I decided that Roger crosses paths with Jake, and the two hit it off, resulting in Jake hanging out in Roger and Mikey's dorm-room a lot in order to hide from Craig, his roommate. Pretty much everyone, including Mikey, assume that Jake and Roger are sleeping together... except they aren't.
"He's just not my type," they would each say about the other.
Note: Jake and Roger meet and become friends long before Roger and Mikey become an item. Also, for those of you more familiar with Mikey's character, just in case you're wondering why he doesn't simply use his headphones to drown out the noise... he lost them. Because I'm evil like that. Mwahahaha!

I would love to see more of his buff, shirtless adventures. Jake does seem like the type who might help with a couple. As long as he doesn't mess it up like what he did with Cody and Samantha (even though they weren't actually dating).

At least he's learned not to jump to conclusions. That was the main issue, really. Although Jake wouldn't have needed to do so if Cody had been honest from the start... or at least wasn't always so secretive. But oh well, it all worked out in the end.

Actually, Cody was more afraid that he himself wouldn't try to stop Jake, because Cody still didn't want to admit that he was "technically" homosexual. Course he realized that was all silly anyway, and after talking things out with the wolf and figuring everything out... he gave into his attraction to Jake. Of course, by that time, Cody was still dating Doug, so stopped just in time.

When I first read the comic, I was actually kinda rooting for Cody to get with Jeff. Somehow the chemistry just seemed better than what was going on with Doug. I ended up getting my wish. xD
Course when Jake and Cody started making out, I didn't know what to think (though I wasn't really surprised at that point; by that time, it felt natural) and just speedily kept on reading to see what happened next.
But yeah, Jake has a lot of redeeming qualities so you can forgive him being a horndog. At least he doesn't go around tricking people into bed, or making empty promises. No, he's honest about what he wants, and if anybody's unwilling, he leaves them alone.

I'm not sure I'd say that. True, Doug wanted to do it, but he also liked just hanging out with Cody. He was just frustrated at how Cody constantly kept on making up excuses not to have sex (anybody in a relationship would be frustrated by that).
What kept Cody from going all the way was not only his fear of confirming his orientation, but also the fact that, at the end of the day, he just didn't want his first time to be with Doug. He liked the cougar as a friend (with minor benefits). Also, Doug wanted Cody to "take charge" in the bedroom... so really, when all's said and done, they just weren't compatible.
Things were more natural and organic between Cody and Jeff, especially since they liked to confide in one another.

Cute AF, but does Roger always talk like that or is he just doing it for Jake? And I have it on good authority (well, I AM from So Cal) that the surfer talk is not that easy to pick up for outsiders

Actually, Cody and Mikey have a lot to commiserate about: both are fluffy and are often 'punished' for it; both start off as serious, standoffish types because they don't want anyone to know they're gay; they both love dancing...

Glad it meets your approval. x3 But as for your question, let me put it like this: because Roger has grown up moving around almost all over the U.S., and even spent a year in Japan, he's gotten very good at adapting quickly to new surroundings, as well as picking up new lingo. Plus, he already says "Dude" in general, so it's a coincidence that works in both their favor. xD
