I put Windows 7 on my laptop and I am not really that excited about it.

Yeh for some Ubuntu 9.10 has caused issues, but keep in mind not all linuxes work the same.
Linux is trial and error, never know if it works until you try it.
Ubuntu is just one Linux, so if you had issues with it maybe another one might suit you better.
Its just a shame Microsoft is dropping XP in favor of these bulky new versions, they just want to show off flash and not care about those with older hardware.
XP could have been improved, but no they rather go revamp everything each time.
In the linux world at least if you have a revamp its usually for the better of the OS, though issues occur due to the experimental nature of linux.
In the end no OS is perfect but personally I rather deal with linux then Microsoft...
Especially with customer support
