It's my opinion: I like it but it's like I'd have to see them in another pose or expression to really imply what I'm seeing or can't really explain.

I think it really shows the evolution of your growth to a new level as a artist lately. Theres always been a high degree of emotional expressionism and sentimentality in your art but now it's like it's intensified. Nonetheless, your syle is what makes your work superbly beautiful and appealing to look at. This is definitely another plateau of that.

The expression is simply confusing me it's all I can say. Are their eyes darker or is it the fact their eyes are half open? Otherwise, the painting and styling is beautiful and I'm sure if you keep trying this transition willy more ingrain itself. The truth is, it's such a more vivid intensified level of expression I can say I'd need to see some more pictures of this new look/styling you've given Flare and Bui lately but I can't deny you're improving.

Yeaaah I should really get around to editing that...
I was struggling to stay awake while drawing him, and his expression ended up reflecting how tired I was on accident ^^;

Only suggestion I'd make is maybe have the yellow tube more opaque, it gets lost otherwise and just blends in. I do like the translucentcy on the fins though, that's cool <3

Ah, I can see where you're coming from. I personally don't like super thin lips, buuut also really don't like very large ones either (well.. depending on people's overall facial structure, but for the most part ^^; ). Bui's here is about the max size I'd actually like; even if he's purposely putting it out a bit in this.

as far as it goes, Blaze has black lips too but you cant really see it because of his fur.

In cases like that, I'm either/or for lips or not (very cute, btw~). When it comes to animals, I really only do lips if they're anthro enough, depending on the character(s). Mostly feral ones look fine without 99.9% of the time

Blazey's kinda a fifty fifty mix, but leaning towards feral, thats kinda the style i like personally.
