An adventurer might opt to keep several liquid lifelines in his pocket, and while Sephis isn't the type to stray from holding a couple himself, the true string of fate is in his cotton.
Sephis uses knitting needles he embezzles with magic energy to improve his manual dexterity and speed, making works incredibly time-efficient. On the list of positive side-effects, he can also retain his dexterity while standing still during a brisk walk, turning his art into a way to keep himself occupied during travel; it's great on the beaten paths, and he can just stuff the project into his sweater if the day had a distraction woven into its fabric.
Of course, as a magician, Sephis also had the option of learning to make clothes through pure magic, but the art of conjuration was never one for finely styled garments...or a permanent one, given long-lasting works still take actual resources and it's more effort than it's worth.
