Basically, the founder son tragically committed suicide and he happened to have been a D&D player, so she thought his suicide was related to the game, you can probably guess where this is going.
They even referred to a 'D&D Curse' on multiple occasions.

I wasn't expecting a reply from you, honestly. I was thinking of 2 things:
1. A roleplay where the victim is reading one of the magazines, but they tf into whatever roleplay they were reading about.
But this is the main idea:
2. A tf series where a person(s) reading one or more roleplay magazines, but one per person at a time. A sequence follows to show their transformation from 0% to 100%, to correlate with how much of the mags they've read. If they read another rp mag, they'll either change roles completely, or have merged roles. The RP mags are reusable.
I am going to watch you now as a result.
Like, you could have one scenario where someone becomes a pooltoy spider, but after reading another mag, a female feral dragon. (Cue Role-shifter for saved role settings, so you can always become Sagita, Maverick Fur Hire, whenever you desire without having to read through all those books again.

I like your idea but let me expplain a few thing about PnP RPG books. Most of them don't cover one class but the entire world and race and how you should play the game.
BUT! I thought the same. Only that depending on the game: player have to roll for immersion. Higher you roll is the more immerst you get into your character... pitty on the guy or gal who picked an alcoholic dwarf. :D
