Latitude is also a thing. I moved up north for the cooler climate (which I didn't get!) and the same temp+humidity up here is worse than further south when it comes to hot weather!

OH yeah, humidity is the killer for me, I can deal with far higher temps in the Med/US/etc than I can in the UK just because of how heavy it is.

Basically have to sleep in the living room where the air conditioner is mounted if I want to get any sort of decent rest. Summer suuuuuuuuuuucks.

As someone suffering through the same heatwave I feel ya.

I discovered a great way to stay cool while trying to sleep (or at any time , really) is using compresses, like the ones you put in your head/back/stomach when you have a fever so it goes down.
I am not sure why I'm almost 30 and just thought of doing this when the heat started this year; it's been some very comfortable nights.

Yep, or a lightly damp towel also does the trick if need be. Or of course a fan with a sleep mode and timer. They can get pretty quiet nowadays! I thankfully am a pretty decent sleeper that doesn't get toooo affected by it, so i thankfully can avoid most of those hassles.

Well you do acclimatize to temperature, when everyday is mid 20s then that'll just be the normal temperature. Seems like you're living in a very cold place though if 22 degrees is already throwing your body off the deep end.

Nice fan you have there, find somebody that sells dry ice and put it in a large container in front of the fan intake and you'll have artic conditions for a few hours., or put a covered tray of water in front to have a swamp cooler set up, both the covered water and fan need to be in the shade for it to work.

Nah, the fan alone actually does work pretty well. And that is with it set to low, so i still got some room to go if need be :D So no need for fancy dry ice or anything like that.
