So I was thinking of doing one of those '12 months of my art for this year' things but fursuits do not always follow that schedule and I liked
growly's recent full compilation idea better.
It is in very rough order (since I often worked on 2 or more at the same time) and I do not fully recall what happened when.
The first line of heads were made the winter of 2005. I dabbled and made a few heads then accepted a few commissions and went "shit. I need more practice."
The 2nd line is summer of 2006 where I 'found myself' and worked out my style away from the influence of anyone else (no tv, no internet, no phone). All of those heads were non-commissioned. I also made my first full fursuit (Springer in square 4) who got a great reception from the fursuit community.
The 3rd line is summer of 2007 where (after I finished RedXIII in the 2nd square) I finally opened for commissions as a business plan.
For 2008 I basically just made ears, tails, and paws (I assumed I could fit them between fursuits but never really got back to working on suits before more small orders came in), as I can only see 3 heads that are probably from that year (sabertiger, white wolf, tigercougar). I also moved my house and it was a great excuse to slack off - resulting in getting severely behind on commissions - a hole which I am still digging out of now. Consider it my year of learning *how* to run a business.
Then the last 10 squares are 2009. I might be missing a few in amongst all this but I think I have the vast majority.
So for everyone that has been bugging me to show off my really early work, here you are :D And to everyone else, consider it proof that we all do stupid things and that improvement is always possible lol!

Wow! I remember seeing you post your earlier suits ages ago, but I can't believe it's really only been a few years since you first started posting stuff! The improvement is unbelievable, and it's great that you made time to work for yourself instead of trying to learn by copying else! Seeing things like this really give me hope that over time I can get good at making suits and costuming stuff. :) Keep up the great work, and I can't what to see will happen over the next few years!
Well I suppose a part of that was the cartoon eyes I was using were not working so I switched to something totally different that I liked more. But it was less the fact that they *were* toon eyes and more that I really took a break there and tried to make things that I liked and I really worked hard on doing them over and over.
So even if I'd not moved to taxidermy eyes, the 2nd row would have been much better regardless.

It's already been said, but I really like seeing the progression of style and skill here. And Red XIII is still my fav. And I'm still bummed I never realised until after you sold him that you were a local, and thus never got to see him in person... I think I might hold that against you forever :P
From start to finish beautiful, passonate work shows in your heads. I know your guna go way far in 2010. An dkudos to organising ur workspace and finances etc that you posted on twitter a while ago. The key behind a productive artists is their organisation ((from time to time)) :3
