Here's a comic that was originally created for GBATemp, but in recent weeks a new direction was decided for their comic section so I decided to simply post this while all of that stuff gets figured out XD
For this one we thought it would be funny if it turned out Princess Peach had been hiring Bowser this entire time and was just a thrill seeker that was bored and wanted something to keep her entertained.
Doesn't look like Mario knew any of this though XD

Also according to lore if it's still Canon or meant for one game is that everything is usually staged like a play and they're the actors since SMB3 was all about that. Could be all 3 of them are actually good friends and are simply setting up shows while retaining their statuses as rulers and hero. Like Peach and Bowser actually are royalty but have enough free time to set up plays and such for their subjects. Paper Mario takes place in a book world within the M&L world so that might not count.
That would explain so much about how Bowser and Peache's kingdoms apparently still get on fine and prosper, despite them constantly being away on holiday, going go carting, playing tennis, playing golf, competing in the Olympics etc.
Also why they tend to all be on the same team for all of the above too.
