Rundnale is a polytheistic country that receives mixed feelings from its neighbouring nations [one antireligious and the other monotheistic].
In their culture, the Xiatli brought life to the world when it was dark and barren, so they are forever thankful to them.
Of course, with so many dieties, it's hard to have all of them loved and praised equally.
But Xiuhtecohot isn't in danger of being forgotten, as one of the elder gods, of fire and of light.
Tzunun flies to spy on the world of the mortals and reports to Xiuh how they are faring and if they keep lighting candles in his honour.
It's said that if any given day not one person brings Xiuh an offering of light, the sun will not rise the following day.
