And with that, Bess got a taste for clams. She is truly a scav now. Also for a long time I thought the barbs on there tongues were small bone like barbs, turns out I was wrong. Apparently they're extremely small and soft, hard to tell apart from taste buds when not extended. When they shoot their tongues out, the motion and pressure cause them to first extend outward by just a few millimeters, then blood rushes into the tips, causing them to bulge into an ovular shape.
