The setting of Ranvec is

When Albert first set out to Ranvec, he expected quite a bit of food, since he heard that the residents 'ate well' there. He soon found out that was half the truth, as he discovered that Ranvec was actually far more dangerous than he had imagined. He soon found himself on the run, the badger not eager to become anyone's 'food-fur', as quoted from before, 'a subservient to another, linked by magic.'
When he tried to find some help, he was gifted some strange magic. At first, it felt weird to him. Soon enough, he felt hungry and ate the first fur he saw, a raccoon by the name of Kenny. It wasn't until later that he found out what magic he had gotten, as he saw the raccoon with a golden collar on, linked to him. Albert apologised quite a bit, to Kenny's confusion, upon which the raccoon took it upon himself to 'teach' Albert how to live in Ranvec, drawing on whatever knowledge he could remember.
A little touch and go at first, the badger had some issues adapting to his new lifestyle, but Kenny ensured to help him each time. An oddity, since food-furs are usually subservient to their masters, not the other way around. They eventually grew to each other's quirks and, some time on, opened a small cafe over their shared fond-ness of food. Some time after, Albert conversed with a Ranvec native, which went south quickly as said native tried to make him a cup of hot chocolate. Literally.
Kenny had to jump in and stop the transformation, the raccoon using his magic to push the transformation magic out of Albert. This is what resulted in his fur colouring. Originally, he was all grey. As he was rescued mid-way into becoming hot chocolate and the magic 'forced out', his fur was permanently discoloured in the fashion shown in the image. A show of disagreement between Kenny and the native saw the latter knocked out, as Kenny coached Albert into rendering the native into his pudge permanently. Not out of some misguided revenge, but because the raccoon saw this story play out far too many times to count. He was not losing a friend to the city.
Needless to say, Albert was quite touched by the thought.
Nowdays, the cafe Albert and Kenny own is now a full-on restaurant, Albert being the main operator of it all. The fact he's from Badgerton, alongside his insistence in quality ingredients and great food, has ensured the restaurant is quite popular in the area.
His size is 5ft9in, meaning he outsizes many of the residents in Badgerton, if not almost the whole town. He is also Roy's great-great uncle. Though, no one has ever really known that before. Not for any reason, but that contact had fallen apart, no real way to keep in touch.
