This is about a character of mine (Salvage). He's someone who believes that he shouldn't be trusted with anything but constantly finds himself in situations where people trust him with their lives.
this piece of music is his theme, it's him coming to terms with the fact that his past is behind him and that he can be trusted.
but music is very interpretive and that's just my interpretation. what's yours?

Ooh that is quite nice! I myself love to do those kinds of things as well! With my piece sinking for example the right hand is playing the same notes for the majority of the time, until the left hand slowly copies the right hand an octave below (the melody *sunk*).
Sadly, people rarely hear or see that, but it's still worth doing.

yeah, that's why I love classical music so much because most composers back then put so much effort into what they did with such a small amount of detail with so many interpretations. also I actually noticed the imitation used in sinking when the right hand was played on the left hand but I never put two and two together about it meaning sinking. now that I've heard you say that though, it feels so obvious XD
I know right. xD
One of the main reasons I have a distaste towards e.g. popmusic is it's simplicity and "meaningless" notes, chords, melodies. For me, discovering those kinds of small details in songs is part of the fun of listening to music at all. It just enhances the experience after you realize how much effort went into making it.

yeah it would be a 9th, and it resolves itself into the 10th essentially (or if you take the new chord into consideration it resolves into the 5th of the new chord) but yeah your right it's a 9th.
I love playing around with dissonance as it always feels as if it needs to resolve somewhere and almost never feels complete without the resolution. a great example of this would be the melancholic piece 'prelude in E minor' by Chopin. it's in a constant state of tension as the melody starts at the 5th of the scale and never full resolves into the tonic until the very end of the piece.
