Hey guys, as I type this up it's about 2 weeks before FWA in Atlanta. It may seem dated at this point, but as far as time goes, doing this early so I can get ready. Anyway, let's get into the last one for the month! It's the 3rd and final stick for the month called the Unhinged. I be typing this at the Cigar Club in town while having coffee running alot of errands. Let's get to it!
Wynwood Hills Unhinged:
Wrapper: Ecuadorian Sumatra
Binder: Dominican
Filler: Honduran
Pre-Light/Construction:
From the first glance along with the other 2 boxes, you know what the size and length would be at this point. The wrapper was a more broader, rougher, but still smooth from the touch. There was a good note of cedar and white pepper notes. There was a bit of an oily shine on there as well. Made it a little more presentable in context. The draw was nice and smooth, so there should be no trouble in the draw.
The Burn Part 1:
From the first few puffs, there was a bit of rough white pepper notes along with some tight leather as well. Something I haven't tasted in a combo for awhile. The draw was a little snug, but it should loosen as it goes down. Soon some natural tobacco notes enveloped to join the party. A bit of a rough start for this little, but I find it interesting.
The Burn Part 2:
As the stick went down, a bit of a medium level semi sweet chocolate note developed to ease a bit of rough tension in the white pepper notes. The balances became a little more even from the retro hale. So far not much of the other notes in strength has changed in the slightest. Pretty tough sucker at this point.
The Burn Final:
It was coming to an end and the changes were a bit more structured in tone. The white pepper dwindled down a bit while the natural tobacco built up a bit in strength. The leather notes however loosened up a little from the sharp bite in the beginning. The tension started to lesson a bit more to the near cold draw for the nub. Mainly the winner in the last note draw was the natural tobacco notes, thus giving it an end.
Verdict:
Semi sweet, leathery, and a sinister bite packed in this little bastard. Something worth the price and taste.
Being that all of these little bastards are the same size and quality, I would say these from all the reviews for the month, I'm sticking with the Mayhem honestly. Still, give these sticks a try. :3
Next Month: RoMa Craft Whiskey Rebellion
See you guys then!
