“I am such a summer person!
Just give me a quiet spot with a view, a cool drink in my hand, a warm sea breeze against my fur, and the soothing sounds of waves crashing, and I will be in all my glory…”
An incessant ringing came from her side pocket as she begrudgingly reached for her phone- she already knew who it was and was in no rush to answer it as they had been pestering her since she snuck out of town- sure enough, the number on the phone was her job. So much for a quiet weekend-
"Nope, not today." Turning her phone off, she threw it to the side and happily sighed, tugging the brim of her hat over her face to shield her eyes from the sun.
It had been a long, tiresome week: her job had been wearing her out lately and there was no end in sight! Her reputation of getting the job done fast, quietly, and most importantly: right the first time, was beginning to precede her. As a result, more and more clients were specifically asking for her.
In a way she was flattered- not only did that mean more work, but more income, and it increased her reputation.
However, it also meant less downtime to be a lazy lyolf, and made getting away for the weekend, or doing something as simple as hanging out with her friends, almost impossible nowadays. As a result, she decided to take a weekend away to recuperate and clear her mind, not bothering to tell anyone where she was going or when she would be back.
Would her boss like it? No. Would he get over it? Like he had a choice...
Lazily sipping on her drink, she gazed out towards the ocean, watching the sun's reflection against the water. Part of her really wanted to go swimming...but that required her moving from her spot.
Nope, not that is not happening today either...
The beach will still be there tomorrow. Today would be her lazy day~
Well it's that time of year again!Time to start spamming everyone's inboxes with summer and beach pictures of Whisper! It's summer time!
If that bothers anyone, sorry in advance but I love getting beach art of my girl.
I actually got this piece a few months ago, but I was waiting on the right moment to post it. And as hot as the weather has been lately, what better time than now? Blah, summer...my least favorite time of the year.
I hope all of you that were whining about it being too cold this past winter are happy now...
Like myself, Whisper is pretty busy right now with work- no clue why but summer seems to be the busiest time of year for some reason. I think the heat and humidity brings out all the idiots, lol.
Nonetheless, even with all the work Whisper has on her plate, she always manages to sneak away for a day or two to have a little "me time" for herself to relax and recuperate. Her favorite spot just happens to be the beach. While she usually travels alone, occasionally she might invite a close friend or two along to go with her for company.
A very cute yet simple piece by entarra of whisper enjoying some downtime at the beach. I actually commissioned them last year to draw Whisper at the beach as well...hmm, a coincidence perhaps? Who knows...
In the meantime, enjoy! Whisper will be back after things have calmed down with more adventures~

"But, I thought you said you HATED summer and that you're more of a winter person." I do! However I still enjoy the beach regardless of the time of year, lol.
Good for you for not working the holiday! Don't let them push you around or use you. I bet if you wanted to switch with someone they would make up an excuse or not want to do it.
As soon as I get off work or it's the weekend? NO work calls or texts! I keep my work life and real life as separate as possible. I'm pretty sure you could use a vacation and some time off soon too, if nothing else just to get a break from the idiots you deal with.
