Clickety-clack reviews: wooden railway stepney
As requested by http://www.furaffinity.net/user/acr/ here is my review of stepney. Let's do it.
My history: I was never really interested in stepney as a child (mostly because I rarely saw him) but acquired a couple models of him. Those being his tomy and ERTL models (both of which I sadly no longer have) it wasn't until recently that I acquired this model on eBay along with Bertie. The weird thing about this model is that his wheels are dated 2003. I'm assuming that this is a stepney released with a DVD bundle. It's kind of weird why they released the old-style stepney with those packs instead of the new-style. I'm guessing they did this because they probably regretted making the latter model in the first place, at least that's what I think. Regardless, I'm proud to own this model of a rare yet awesome engine.
Pros:
1: the printing is really nicely applied.
2: the face is really accurate to the tv series.
Cons:
1: due to how big his side tanks are the cab looks squished making his 55 look bigger than it is.
2: speaking of which, the tanks are far too big. They could have shortened it a bit to make the cab a bit bigger and have it so that the boiler could have been part of the tanks (like the prototype). Those changes would have really set this model over the top.
Final score: 8/10 a great model with few flaws.
