"It is unseemly for a powerful being like myself to be so heinously...girly looking."
The Grimoire of the Forbidden Fable, also known as "Grim" by his mistress is a magical tome discovered by Belle in the ancient Licorne Library.
This rather bawdy companion to the princess possesses powerful magic and several forms which he uses at different times to travel with his
mistress who is on a journey to find her lost people, her mother and her place in the world as the last of her kind. Grim will not reveal the true
nature of what and who he is, but the princess suspects he is not all that he seems. He is quite unhappy with his appearance, which he has deemed
"entirely too feminine." However, per his contract and curse he takes on the form of his bearer's innermost soul. As such, he finds himself quite
feminine indeed, as his mistress is none other than the Hartlicorne Princess herself, Belle. It is unclear what precise species he is or might have
been, yet his head has taken on a leonine aspect. He speaks and is very facially animated, if only his head. His power is contained within his pages
and thus he most often remains closed. The rose clasps are not merely decoration, but shackles, binding his power. In rare moments he is able to
break them in order to better serve his mistress. He commands a defense form wherein his pages become a feather like shield capable of repelling
attack. Grim also sports a flighted form, allowing him quick travel to his lady's side. He is most aggrieved by the "effeminate" butterfly like aspect
this form has. When Grim is sleeping or rather dormant, his jeweled eyes are shut. To the non-magical he appears as a normal book, carried on a
strap by the royal doe on her travels...
"You are unlike any master I have ever served, my lady. I will always protect you."
This has been such a labor of love, working with Pace to design and
bring my daydreams and concepts to life. Grim was entirely my design
but I couldn't have done it without the talented hands of my roommate!
I will be uploading more finished writing and much may feature Belle's
new, curmudgeonly companion who, I assure, will entertain you greatly.
I'd like to say that everyone who follows Belle and comments on my
work spurs me to keep creating. It means so much to me to receive
comments on these submissions as I keep building Belle's beautiful
world for everyone to enjoy. Keep dreaming with me <3

details here and there not only to a design but to a
