Worries of the Fatwoof Knight
Knight Wolf gulped. His fingers were dancing frantically against the black leather of his thermal armor. With eyes darting left and right at his empty surroundings, Knight Wolf finally sighed. "D... don't laugh, please?"
"I would not laugh at you, Knight Wolf." Knight Wolf's friend, Tudor, remarked in a soothing, and friendly voice. "Show me the confidence you possess on the heat of battle."
"Oh, that?" Knight Wolf stood up straight. He took a deep breath, feeling his belly expand comfortably as he did. He felt his movement was less restricted with this new set of armor he had. "I heard you are in need of a hero?"
Stamping one of his feet on the ground, Knight Wolf grabbed his cape, flinging it over his shoulder as he pivoted on the grounded foot. Completing a complete rotation, Knight Wolf stamped his other foot on the ground and belted out, "I am Knight Wolf -- your hero in shining armor!" The werewolf was not sure what pose he should use now, so he gave Tudor a thumb's up.
Tudor stared at Knight Wolf silently. The minotaur was not known for showing much emotion, but Knight Wolf had known this man long enough to see he was amused. Did Knight Wolf mess up? It was hopeless. Just because Knight Wolf had new armor, it didn't mean that people would treat him like a hero.
If not for the helmet trapping his ears in place, Knight Wolf's ears would have bent back. He lowered his posture, looking down at the black leather expanse that was his belly. "D... do you think they will accept me?" Knight Wolf felt himself shiver. He had been excited to get himself a set of new armor, now that he could afford it -- Tudor even goaded him into getting a new set of armor to increase his confidence... and he bought it.
There was a long silence, longer than Knight Wolf wanted to hear. A single gust of wind blew past him. With both his werewolf fur and the armor he wore, he did not feel cold, but this simple gust of wind gave him the chills.
"It's... it's hopeless." Knight Wolf clenched his fists, looking up at Tudor with dismay. "It's just armor, Tudor." He lowered his head again. "It's not going to make people like me! It's not gonna do anything to make me even more remotely a hero-"
Knight wolf felt something poke into his belly. It squished in a decent amount before he noticed it was Tudor's finger. Confused, the werewolf looked up from his belly. He saw the smiling eyes of his stoic friend.
"I apologize for not responding in a timely manner. I was distracted by how cute you looked." Tudor stated in a serious tone.
Cute? Knight Wolf thought this armor was supposed to make him look like a fearsome knight!
.... Then again, "cute" was a close second.
~~~~~
I had to draw Knight Wolf in an armor set WITH a helmet... and room for his massive belly. SO, there he is! This may be his winter set for when wearing only plate armor and mail would cause him to freeze over.
