Here we are with the D 8 cutting the truck loose and getting it on the road and then working at getting the excavator down on the road below. The trailer came out slightly twisted but still usable

The trailer had brakes Vicky the problem was the driver couldn't apply just the trailer brake to slow things down it's the way the new truck air system was plumbed it doesn't have a separate valve to actuate just the trailer brakes.
The other problem was the road is 5/8 minus crushed rock so it's actually gravel that likes to slide
