I FINALLY finished my very first tutorial :w00t: and I spent a HUGE amount of time on this so.. well lets just say I have some hopes to meet..
well this isn't much of a tutorial but more of a referencesheet of how to draw animal skulls on bandannas for that extra awesomness factor to your character ;)
I've searched the web for animal skulls and drawn my version of how I believe them to look like on a bandanna
this was alot harder that I had expected since one has to incorperate a 3D skull onto a 2D bandanna and then add perspective and folds into the fray ;)
but anyhow these are the short list of animals I've drawn:
- Red fox
- Grey wolf
- Siberian Tiger
- Brown Rat
- Saltwater crocodile
- Velociraptor (probably my favorite)
- Brown bear (yes i was abit sloppy with the bear)
Feel free to add any kind of ideas that could improve this tutorial, and perhaps what kind of animals you would like to see on this list =)

naw, on download it's still waaaay too small, oh well I've now linked to the real sized version so it'll be okey now.

Essentially, you just use the bandanna as an x-ray of the figure's skull? Interesting. I would not have thought of that. I would have tried to make a flat cloth with a skull on it, then try to fold it over the character's face. This method, while not 100% accurate, is far simpler to use, and allows the viewer to recognize what would most likely be a mess of white, black, and teeth, if it were done in another style.

haha yea SAME here! I where a male tauren druid who allmost allways wore some kind of bandanna mask on me, especially the white bandit mask =D allso loved the Nightslayer head gear with the red mask on, that one looked really good on taurens =D
has the stats changed on the white bandit mask?

How could I refuse when you do such great mask artwork? Ryu mostly wears full-face masks, though...he's not really the type to wear bandanas.
I'm not sure when, but the stats were changed to make them more caster-oriented.

hmmm I'm sure I can figure a way to make him a full skull mask covering his hole face^^ I love those kind of masks as well after all =D
allthough this might take a wile, you do have a really well drawn avatar allready so I feel I atleast should do something just as good looking^^

Yes it is true like you said that the skull bandanas aren't 100% perfect but this looks as great as it possibly can for a paint on bandana with acrylics imo.
I'm going for the fox design it looks more evil than the wolf skull, I totaly appreciate you doing other species to :D

I'm ok with the size on FA I really prefer the DA version cause of course its much bigger :) I've uploaded this link to my journal giveing you alot of credit to.
btw I had to paint my whole black human skull bandana with black acrylics I'm now waiting for it to dry then tomorrow I'm gonna get started on doing the fox.

I guess what would be cool is if you could either just work off of my current icon or just do one similar to it, and have him wearing a bear skull bandanna over his muzzle.
just in case of curiosity struck ya, even though my fursona char is a wolf, I feel more of a connection with bears IRL.
