I suspect the fur in question may be the parallel to the beaver, Lodge, the gentleman's gentleman, in the Spontoon Island setting. Lodge was very Jeeves like though, and one of my favourite characters in that setting.
I agree that a mute fur using pictographs drawn in the air is a quite intriguing situation considering it has been established that almost all magick requires a verbal element so this cannot be magickal as such and is one with the mystery of his magickless pooks. (Lodge also was know for his almost magical ability to appear at the mere mention of his name).

Well, this just getting more frustrating as it goes for Fifth. Here he is in a vacation mecca but he seems surrounded on all sides by those who are driving him to distraction and as usual Third's reputation has preceded him. Seems oddly fitting that the amiable and good intentioned but highly prone to 'hoof in mouth' syndrome Riri is the going to remind him openly of this... and being a white-tail just adds the insult to the injury.
There must be something rather complex in Ooo-er's interview results in that she does not wish to use the chap book technique unlike the time on the Glittering Isle where she did explain the Grey horde invasion in stick figure form. It is interesting that elf-mind is not an option for WW5 in his communications with Ooo-err. It seems to have worked with languages as uncommon as Draconic but Ottersprach seems to have quirks that make it not as easily linkable.
