Sketch of Iron Press
Iron Press is a former journalist from the United States of Palm, her career ended when she got caught in the speculative coverage in PadrĂ³n following the sinking of "Battleship Coral", which is the Insect Charter's version of the Spanish American War.
I wanted a character that got so caught up in an a event that she started exaggerating events of the conflict. Her role in the conflict got her in trouble and black listed from a group known as the "Journalism league". The league is a group of masked journalist and news reporters from all over the world with the mission to honor truthful and investigative journalism which often times have them chasing secret societies and criminal masterminds in the scholar underworld. This aspect pays homage to all the reporter superhero's in pulp magazines and other media. Also me being a fan of history wanted to give a nod to journalism in the late 1800s in which reporters often times had access to active crimes scenes and investigations to the point they would report events and testimonies before the official police statement was made.
Her yellow coat is a play on the term Yellow Journalism.
