My anole, who lived to be just a little over 7 years old before he died yesterday. I don't need any "I'm sorry"s or "My condolanses" nor do I want them. If you want a fuller story about the event, check my journal. I wanted to use this picture to tell a funny story about how he got his name.

I actually didn't name him right away. I really couldn't think of one. It wasn't until a year later when my sister got an anole of her own and kept it in a cage with mine when my friend and I settled on a prefect name for him. We decided to name him after the main character of the Devil May Cry videogame franchise: the demon, "Dante". We chose this because name because my lizard would always jump on my sister's whenever he wanted to just chill on the wall. We joked that mine wanted to kill hers, like Dante wanted to kill his brother Virgil in the DMC games. Needless to say, my lizard long outlasted my sister's. But, what makes "Dante" fit even more for my anole is that he seemed just like the video game character in that he was demonic. He didn't seem like he was ever going to die. For the past couple years, we've actually called him "Demon Lizard" more than his actual name. Well, now the demon has officially been slain.
