Step 1) You are a medic, therefore you are a painted fucking target for the other team. Stay in cover
Step 2) Heal teammates who are low on health, it will build your über faster which is the whole reason you play medic
Step 3) Heavies, demos, soldiers and pyros are your "medic buddies", they get priority
Step 4) Don't be a prick by sticking to one player like glue, see Step 2
Step 5) Don't bother trying to charge an über inside your base, this is useless and completely time-wasting - the guys on the frontline will have a better chance with your help
Step 6) Über pyros in crowded spaces, über demos for hard-to-reach sentries, über soldiers and heavies for basically everything else
Step 7) When you are übering someone with the intention of taking out a sentry gun, run into the sentry's rocket fire first so your teammate can bring down the pain hammer
Step 8) STRAFE LIKE CRAZY, THERE ARE SNIPERS EVERYWHERE, MAN
I hope you were after a srs answer <:3c ~

I was leaning more towards "YES LET'S PLAY!"
BUT THIS IS GOOD TOO<3
Actually, I've been playing a huuuuge game of CTF for the past few hours, and have learned a loooot! Mostly what you've told me!
I can't believe I am the only medic though. I've noticed that there's only usually one, or none. Which is unfortunate.
I've been having some trouble keeping up with players in the battle field. Spies and snipers take me out with extreme ease, especially when I'm healing someone. I think a lot of that has to do with my mouse, and the fact that I need to get to know the maps better! Eee!
Related, I often lose track of my buddies, and end up being alone in the field, which means HEY I'M DEAD IN A MATTER OF SECONDS SAVE MEEE.
BEING A TARGET MAKES ME SO SAD, BUT IT MAKES ME FEEL IMPORTANT. DODGEDODGEDODGE!
Also, I have learned that heavies are the best medic buddies ever and I want to hug them forever.
Question though~! Unless I die, obv, can I save my Ubercharge once my medigun is...charged, and then find a good target? Or do I have to be like "OHSHITOHSHITOHSHITCANNOTWASTE"

No, the idea is very specifically that you are meant to get to 100% charge and only deploy it once the time is right. You can't hold onto it for too long, though, in case of spies or snipers (or anyone else, for that matter). Choosing when to deploy your über is one of the most important parts of playing medic.
Spies can usually be avoided by not standing still with your dick in your hands. Another reason for you to keep strafing. Remember that medics are *slightly* faster than all other classes but Scout.
Heavies are the best medic buddies as a rule but soldiers are another great choice - overhealed, they have 300 health but they are much more mobile and quick to counterattack than heavies.
Easiest way to not get sniped is know where the enemy snipers are. This is a combination of experience and common sense. Never stand around in the open when you're playing medic, even if you're moving snipers will be basically teaming up to kill you.
Personally, if there's no medics on my team I will go medic, and sometimes I'll go medic even if we have two because the more übers your team has, the better - and the other team probably has that many too. That's if you're playing Payload or Attack/Defense, of course, which are my favourite gametypes. Remember, whether you're attacking or defending, übers win games!

I'll be your Friendly Heavy! Please do warn me about these pesky Scouts though. I don't want to lost my Sandvich http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2220029/
