I don't know why it took me as long as it did after buying Hollow Knight to start playing it, but god I wish I'd started sooner. Hollow Knight is one of my all-time favorite games and I haven't been so head-over-heels over a game in a long time. Going in blind was the best decision I made, it was like I was playing an old favorite for the first time (if that makes any sense...?)

ANYways. This is from 2018, I of course had to mess around and try designing some characters in the Hollow Knight style.fun fact, this was just gonna be a basic ref sheet like you see on the right, but then I got carried away and did experimental lighting and a half-assed sort-of background instead.

This is Roux, one of the several Hollow Knight OCs that happened in my note doodles. They’re modeled vaguely after wasp-mimic moths. I really wanted to have something with eye patterns on wings and Roux turned out to be the perfect opportunity for that. They’re part of the Grimm Troupe and are involved with maintaining the flames for rituals (literally just because I like to draw them with a flame in their hand).
