When my lovely Luciferian lotus offered up this idea I was reminded of just how unbelievably beautiful she was to me. As a representative of The Satanic Temple, The Seven Tenets figure into her life and generally colour her interactions with others. Here, however, is presented more of what could be called her personal code of ethics and a very beautiful one it is. As she states it, "five simple rules", Guidelines of respectful and civil interaction I think most folkes might benefit a jot or three from thinking about...

I can absolutely fukken agree. These all make sense. Ah, and with the last one, I've a friend who keeps saying they hate science because it takes the mystique away from everything, but... It's not like the scientific truth is any less fascinating, and it's like like we know anywhere near half of it either! I think I need all of these though, not just the ones I can provide handy, boring anecdotes from. Thanks for sharing~
These rules are a very solid set of rules to live by... though I'll admit that I don't agree with the last one if purely for one reason. If there was no myths, there'd be no creative stories that led to things like Corey being made. Prinnies don't deserve to be snapped out of existing. <3
But I do understand the actual intent of the rule. You shouldn't let fables of gods and demons decide your life because at the end of the day what you do with your life and what affects it boils down to what you and those around you do. Not some mystical hand of whatever deity 'accidentally' dropped a cheeto off the celestial couch and then flicked your figure when nobody was looking to screw with their divine comedy playset.
But I do understand the actual intent of the rule. You shouldn't let fables of gods and demons decide your life because at the end of the day what you do with your life and what affects it boils down to what you and those around you do. Not some mystical hand of whatever deity 'accidentally' dropped a cheeto off the celestial couch and then flicked your figure when nobody was looking to screw with their divine comedy playset.
I quite admire her personal code, and this piece is also pretty inspiring in that I may put together a code of my own some day as well. *wags*
"Do as thou wilt, but remember, no one likes an asshole"....that is particularly one I appreciate. I know some popular quotations of Satanists are that, or "Live Deliciously", and both are ones that I can enjoy as long as they take Sanitas expanded clarification into consideration. I think we all ought to be free to indulge in our sinful, earthly pleasures, but if ones pleasure comes at the expense of others, well, they can fuck right off.
