In the darkest dustiest legends of the ancient world, it is told there is a being who watches the gods from the silence beyond the night. It tallies their triumphs and their defeats, every deed, great and small. And should any god seek to make war among their peers, or to reach beyond their rightful place, it comes to arbitrate. It comes with bearing the guilt gods do not feel, and the truth that they ignore, to settle the tally and clean the slate.
It is the only thing a god must fear. It is the one to whom the untouchable must answer. It is the Gwyddernan.
And it's got a fabulous dress to do it in.
A little note: Gwyddy here is entirely of my own creation: I thought, since I have this fantasyland with all these gods batting about, there had to be someone to act as sort of referee to make sure things didn't get out of hand. Thus, the Gwyddernan. Technically sexless, I've always thought of her as female. She doesn't really care: I'm a mortal, so I don't matter. She's got a sword made of truth and a scroll that carries a god's guilt. So she'll show a god its guilt, and then stab it in its heart with the sword, so they'll know what guilt is true and keep it with them always. Aside from the sword, she also carries Truth in her heart, and therefore cannot be deceived. She also has the power to nix gods out of existence entirely, but usually tries to avoid this.

I have got to say that I simply adore this piece. Beyond the fact that you "make with the pretty" using watercolors, the design is great. I love seeing art like this because it gives me a mix of emotions (in this case elated and envious) to create an entirely different feeling, unique as the piece itself.
*whistles* Wow, this looks great! :O The effects you've used look amazing and I especialy like the escaping text on the parchment. I like how you can see the versatility of watercolours in this work: at some points it looks like coloured pencil work. ^^ I really like this!
