A few months ago, I was taking a class while still working on another art project for here, and I was getting a little frustrated and burned out on that project. When that happens, my mind tends to wander, and I made a bunch of rough doodles of some taurs in my notebook. I started mashing around a couple of ideas that were floating around in my head such as conjoining, taurs, ponies, and belly faces, and I stumbled into a concept that started to appeal to me. I can tell when something grabs me when drawing the day before felt like a chore, but now stuff is just dropping out of my stylus or pencils. Honestly, I think the whole thing was an excuse for me to draw a lot of taurs, and the conjoinment aspect added a tiny bit of spice to it. I made a whole mess of doodles of different ones in different poses that first night and started cleaning them up over the next week or two.
The whole thing wrapped around the idea of merging the kind of anthroish dragons from MLP with a bunch of the pony unicorns to make a conjoined taur. I used very ponyesque unicorns and the dragon designs were inspired from a bunch of different sources like the HttyD movies, Gargoyles, a kobold style I see a lot on FA, my own way of drawing dragons, and ones from the MLP show itself. It was a fun way of getting me out of my usual way of drawing dragons.
When I draw these things part of my mind gets preoccupied about how I’m gonna present this stuff on FA, since it’s my only real gallery that anyone looks at, and I wasn’t sure that putting them up one or two at a time was going to make much sense. So, I got the idea that I should just wait until I’m done them and post them en masse. Then I was thinking ‘why not put a little comic narrative together for them’ because while drawing them I started to get some story ideas based around them and I might be able to use that to explain what they were. Because, when I’m distracting myself from a project, I should start another one. That’s always a path to success isn’t it. :P
Making the comic part, especially the first page, was a little more difficult than I expected since I was trying a bunch of different painting styles and techniques and had mixed success with all of them. I also realized I didn’t have as clear a vision for it as I thought I had. Kind of a pain when you realize that little fact about half way through working on it. So I apologize in advance for the mishmash art style throughout it. I’m still cleaning up some final parts of the narration for it, so in about a day or so when I finish up I’ll post it all. This one image didn’t really fit into the narrative, but I like it so I’m throwing it up here by itself.
Not sure what I’ll do with them after I finish all of this, but they might show up as little doodles in my scraps or something. At least now they’re will be a frame of reference for them.

I was just free doodling with some different merging ideas, and around the same time I was playing a bit with the pony aesthetic because it's easy to draw, and I sketched a few taur mergings that were a little lewd, and I wanted to try to make them a little less obviously lewd but still conjoined. Having the heads side by side had been done a lot and needed the chests to be a little wider, So I put the head in the chest, and it all sorta started to click. Then I got a little obsessed with the idea for a week and made a lot of sketches and started worldbuilding, cause worldbuilding is addictive.
