Samus has joined heroes from across the multiverse in fighting off an evil force threatening reality, but there's one problem: she doesn't have her Power Suit! Without it, combating the minions of evil is nearly impossible; however, an old foe has a training method that will grant her the power she needs.

Hey hey, it's been awhile, hasn't it? I've been working periodically on this story since January when I was playing through Super Smash Bros' Story Mode. Of course, when I saw Kraid was one of the dojo masters, I had to use it as an excuse for some transformation fun, especially since I haven't seen too much done with Kraid (or, at least, not enough for me, haha)

I read this over on your DA, but good sweet heavens this was super mega adorable beyond all get out. Having my own fic involving Samus turning into a Ridley dragon (and the current iteration of Ridley wanting to be a precious bean instead of a jerk and really wants to date Samus too) makes transformations like this cause me to squee in delight.
It's been almost four years and I still love this story. It's so sweet, it really makes wish for Samus to stay as a kaiju-sized reptile with Kraid as her teammate 🥺 Or even becoming Kraid's mate...
After the events of Metroid Dread, I hope Samus could use more of her enemies' abilities in a future game, maybe even transforming her like in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.

Thanks again! I do have a strong urge to return to this story, as well as another Samus/Kraid related TF story.
And yeah, the X Parasites being able to turn creatures into hybrids, and Samus being immune to the more harsh side effects, really does make me want to see them do something like Majora's Mask. They kind of did the Megaman thing with taking out the robots and getting their powers, so it would be cool to see that with absorbing X-infected creatures, Samus can alter her DNA to gain special abilities. Maybe some day...

It's like what I told to someone on DeviantArt. Just picture this:
Samus is in the middle of the battle against Kraid. She has run out of missiles and she's not doing so well, when suddenly a piece of Kraid's skin or a missile falls down and her suit analyses it.
In a few moments, her armor disappears as her body transforms and she becomes a member of Kraid's species (possibly as big as him). The two proceed to have a Kaiju sumo battle involving belly missiles, claw scratches, nail boomerangs and flaming rocks.
And that's not all.
Samus could turn into a Space Pirate (either just one or all types of them), a Zebesian dragon like Ridley or Greed, a Chozo like her adoptive parents or even the species of other bounty hunters like Rundas, Gandrayda, Trace and Spire, among others.
