Excerpt from Keep Fighting Chapter 21
Among the history and prestige of the nation's capital, the Championship Fighting Association invaded Washington D.C. with the hope of further establishing its own legacy. Dirah utilized funds accrued from the last few shows on advertising for the night's battle royal. Television commercials, radio spots, billboards and web page banners were all part of the budget to hype a match that she had created against the advice of Sairi. She spent more money between the Charlotte and D.C. shows than the company had on all of the previous biweekly gaps combined. It was a calculated risk on her part. The C.F.A. had been selling out the smaller venues of cities it traveled to and television ratings on S.N.T. climbed every episode. Returning Slash, one of the association's most popular competitors, to an unprecedented six fighter match helped too. Dirah banked on their success continuing to peak and the rewards of her gambles were taking shape
