Finally it's done.
I wanted to prepare some kind of speech, but all the forces went to artwork heh
Just saying that being a lesbian/bisexual in Russia is hell. And despite the warmth and sweetness in my work, I painted it with a pain in soul.
Here are my two best friends, and relatively recently they are together.
But they have to hide their relationship, because it's dangerous for their lives.
Initially, I conceived this work in much more gloomy tones and with a different theme. But at some point I realized that there was already too much dark in life.
In the end, these girls are not alone, they have each other, they are not without support from tolerant friends. I wish them and all of you happiness, prosperity and, most importantly, a safe life.
Even if I don't take any place in this contest, I put my heart into this work and I'll be glad if you support me with subscriptions, comments and reposts.

I'm not even interested in pink color (not the flag, just the pink color in general). But you somehow managed to make it look homely and safe. The way this couple uses the flag like a protective blanket, plus your soft art style to stress the positive emotions.

Maybe one day Russia will become stronger and allow people like you to show themselves in public, without any harm done for their sexual (or gender) orientation. It's such a useless hate and a waste of energy when there are real problems which need attention. Like child abuse and shit. Two people who are in love with each other isn't something destructive and traumatizing.

I like to think that, because big countries like USA got gay rights, other powerful countries will follow.
It's definitely gonna take a while, but the pressure is there. It should be possible someday. Putin won't live forever. :D And younger generations are more tolerant than older ones.
I might be wrong, but that's how I experience it. Young people are likely to welcome changes and risks, old people often don't want to go out of their comfort zone.

I don't want to think about the bad, but Putin, though not really eternal, may well put the receiver in his place and who knows what kind of person it will be ... Democration in Russia is dead actually.
The younger generation is now being actively educated on propaganda and militarization, those who think sensibly are in the minority. Every year 100,000 people immigrate from the country. The SMARTEST people.

Ah shit, you're right. I didn't really think that far. Oh man.
Now I can only hope that maybe something will happen inside a family of those political powers, where family love keeps them from killing each other... I don't know. Just something which inspires them to see people as people.
