I suspect that it is a selection for dramatic shots. As William Randolph Hearst, the tabloid magnate who created the Hearst newspaper chain, said, "If it bleeds, it leads," referring to what does on the front page. I photograph of a bored tiger would be less interesting. In this case, I think that the tiger could see the lion looking at him, and didn't like it.
