Enoch Gyan was abandoned as a child and has always longed to belong somewhere. Through university, he had two friends. One of them is Conall, an archaeologist. After they graduate and Enoch starts to make a name for himself, he sets Conall up as 'repayment' for all the support he got from his friend during those hard times.

In return Conall gives him something that money can't buy. Conall spends a year of his life researching to find the 'peoples of the cloud' and their deity known only as 'ice bird'. And he takes Enoch to a little known remote cave halfway up a near impassible cliff face. It's the first link Enoch has with what could be his family roots, from thousands of years back in time he has something tangible that he might have once had something to call home.
