Returning back to normal around here. Thanks for the words in the wake of my Uncle's passing.

Geru Geru was the Monster of the Week on Ep.13 of the UFO Robot Grendizer anime. It was a humanoid type Saucer Beast whose power came from Solar Energy which he adsorbs into its shields, which fed its Solar Heat Beam located in its chest, which can have the effect to damage electronics, the shields attached to its arms are resistant to any attack. Geru Geru had green color head and helmet, with a green-blue color top and face, with blue color horns and orange rivets, with red eyes with dark green outlines around these. The Shields of its Saucer mode were purple with red suns with a yellow and orange center. It's torso was green with a red sun in the center, two spikes on the side of its head and Blue pelvis, this was separated by a purple belt with a light gray belt buckle. Legs were gray with Red fire painted in its lowest legs, with black and gray feet.

As the Makiba prepare for the new year's celebration, the animals in the farm and forest begin to act restless when explosions are witness coming from the other side of the Mountains. Daisuke runs to the Observatory where he sees the new Beast from Vega, Geru Geru, attacking the city with its Solar Beam, Umon concluding correctly it use its shields to feed its main weapon. As Koji and Daisuke depart, Umon recommends Koji to use the TFO to extinguish the fires, much to his dismay.

The two take off to the city – as Grendizer tries to attack, Geru blocks the Spin Saucers and Melt Showers with its shields. Grendizer ejects and fights the Beast directly, but is knocked out by the Saucer Mode. Koji tries to help b shooting at it, but Grendizer takes a shot from Geru's Solar Beam, immediately problems start with the Mecha's weaponry failing to respond, the beast takes the chance to beat it and set him on fire. Umon orders the two to retreat, with Koji turning off the fire and distracting the beast, allowing the two to escape with Duke Fleed releasing the Anti-Radar cloud to cover their tracks.

With Night approaching, Blacki orders Geru Geru to land for the night to save its remaining power, Daisuke and Koji return to the Observatory to begin repairs on Grendizer, but sadly he is hoisted back to the farm by Dambei, as he need help to keep the animals calm while one of the mares is about to give birth. Feeling responsible for Grendizer's damage, Koji (much to the protest of Prof. Umon) takes off on the Jeep to destroy the Beast while it stays low at night, using time bombs which are set next to the Beast's head. The Bombs go off, but these fail to do any damage, Geru Geru reacts and fires at Koji, but fortunately it misses as he escapes right on time.

By sunrise, the Beast gets back into action and continues its path of destruction on the city, with the flames been pushed by the winds in direction to the Makiba farm. Koji arrives on the farm to take off on the TFO, to allow time for Daisuke to run back at the observatory to fix Grendizer, Daisuke overrules him and decides to go off on his own, and takes off on the Grendizer, despite the Robots weapons don't still respond. On its way he encounters a Minifo Flotilla, but these are dispatch quickly as Duke just rams them with Grendizer, the Mecha ejects and challenges Geru Geru, but without its weaponry, its beaten around by the beast. As Duke attempts to fix the weapons system, Umon comes with the plan to provide assistance by reflecting the Solar beam back at the beast with a mirror, burning its Internal Systems. Koji installs one under the TFO and flies to provide assistance to Duke. When he arrives, the Beast fires the Beam at the TFO, but with the help of the mirror, it reflects beam back at Geru, over heating and destroying the Solar Beam, right on time for Duke to have achieve the repairs. Geru Geru makes one last charge attack at the Mecha, but Grendizer dispatches it quickly with Double Harken, cutting it pieces and its remains exploding much to the horror and shock of Blacki.

After the battle, the group returns to the Makiba Farm to help with the preparations, when Koji receive a message from his old friend Boss, who will be visiting him for the New Year's Celebration.
