This was an idea for a old dead fanfic project, Silent Hill: Dreamweaver. It would have depicted the stressful turmoil that Alan Reeves continues to feel, deeper on the anniversary of his "Dream" girl's disappearance, Nikki S. Yamaoka. The photo of her is the only evidence that she ever existed acquired by "supernatural" means. The way they spent time together was by unconventional, the last time he ever saw her being the first time in person having traveled to the US to see him and visit long lost relatives of her american mother.

She never reached them, and any investigation turned up empty and quickly forgotten as nothing more than a cold case. But Alan continued have dreams...nightmares of Nikki calling for him, for help to escape a hellish landscape she was now trapped in. Everytime he tried he met the same horrific fate of being mutilated and torture my freakish monsters or psychotics...sometimes even by a version of himself constantly angry urging Alan to submit to death and let "it" in. The constant nightmares led to...psychological troubles.

It would be several years later that Alan would find the drive to move on and try to repair his life, though it leads him to grow distant from family and old friends. Nearing the days to the mournful anniversary Alan stops by a local mall to collect his thoughts and try to work through college assignments, but the nightmares that had once subdued after his past treatments have started to come back worsening his mood. Her picture...it brings both glee for the innocent times of being around Nikki as well as pain for missing her dearly...and the horrors upon her face each time he dreams of that hellscape she is trapped in.

I actually did write most of the 0 chapter this illustration comes from. If anyone is ever interested you can find it on dA...if it hasn't been removed for whatever bull crap copyright or guidelines I've now somehow broken.
