Powder Snow (Winterverse Remix)
READ BEFORE YOU LISTEN TO IT!
This is the best song I've ever made, hands down. This song is sacred to me. Precious to me. And I advise you not to listen if you do not love music as much as I do. It's a remix of Ayumi Hamasaki's track, "Powder Snow".
I actually created this remix near the end of winter in 2008, during my time at Job Corps. I was very lonely and depressed and there were a lot of people I missed and I felt as though I was going to be forever stuck at Job Corps. The ending was not in sight and a great feeling of hopelessness and forlorn took over me. That's when I made this song.
I know this may sound pretentious, but be grateful I'm posting this song at all. Far too long have I been reluctant to release this song publicly because I felt it would be an insult to the song itself if it fell upon too many unworthy ears.
I posted a journal awhile back ( http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1025248/ ) that was sort of a prep journal for this song, but then I decided I cared too much about the song to just up and post it, but being my best song, and my desire to improve greatly, I'm going to post this here and now. Tell me what you all think. As arrogant as it sounds, I expect nothing less than to hear that it at least moistened your eyes if not made tears streaming. It's that touching to me. And I've only shown it to two people, period.
Edit: Yes, I know the ending sucks, but it was good enough for me back in 2008, damnit! It's too sacred to me to mess with. What you hear is what you get :)

You did put a lot into this, I can tell. So well that I can even tell that you even wrote it in winter... even if I didn't read that you said that prior or take the name into account. I can really imagine a winter scene through out this song... those little fast faced electronic beeps/tones I definitely imagine snowflakes falling.
However I don't sense a whole lot of despair and depression in the song. Granted I hear a slight undertone of sadness to it, but not he main focus. More like drifting or shifting your way through the snow and fog. I don't imagine a whole lot of "action" in this one, don't get me wrong that does not mean the song stinks, it's good! But I digress... anyway I imagine you, well Jaiko, walking down a street, possibly lined with skeletal ciders that are now asleep and Jaiko must quickly saunter through the snow. He is all bundled up and whiten puffs escape his mouth occasionally as the snowflakes fall all around him. Now right when I hear that extra electronic tone come in at 0:22 seconds I imagine Jaiko's seemingly tired eyes caught a glimpse of an oddly out of place monarch butterfly. It is this tone that is the focus of the song and it is not dreadful or sad, it is the fluttering of this butterfly. Jaiko follows it, slowly, through the song and he cannot help, but feel some sort of peace or happiness that he has been yearning for, thus possibly believing that this butterfly can lead him to it. As if a sign. Jaiko continues and continues to follow this softly fluttering butterfly through the light breezy snowflakes and fog in his thick long coat and follows it right down the street towards the horizon where the sun is setting, slowly being pulled below the line and the scene gradually fades as the song comes to a slower, softening end... a foreshadowing, I think, of that warm brightness over the horizon, that warm happiness and peace he is longing for.
One can truly say, a composer, that they did excellently well with their music when the listener can imagine a clear scene! Great work Jaiko, as always, great and wonderful!

THIS here is the reason I clicked the "watch" button 3 or however the heck many years ago. This is better than my previous favorite (you know the one I did that atrocious insulting cover of, which I am still sorry for >.>;;; ) by fucking lightyears.
This is amazing. I really can't do much for words beyond what I've said here. It doesn't need a rhythm it doesn't need anything. This is perfect, and I hope you never change it. It's in the right place -- close to your heart.

very good and very beautiful. I can tell that theres definitely a story to it, some kind of journey perhaps?
But yeah I agree that the ending is kinda abrubt, but hey journeys can end in an instant. But then again it does sorta lead into the ending if you pay attention enough mez guessz

Hmmmmoohyeah . That was my quickest unveiled 'verehhappeh' face in a comment, ever. A smooth sort of listen, I at first just couldn't figure out how to classify this track. I hope I don't sound un-reasonably flattering, but this listen was just so lovely for me I couldn't think right on it. The smoothly crescending grooves and underlays were very high-tempo, yet some how retained the wistfulness and the sense of a desire for something; and that is a fine, fine achievement in and of itself.
The high bpm of the main lead seemed to keep it all together though, with this feeling of being led by the nose in one's desire for that missing part of... something. Almost like it was the desire itself as you watch and yearn for it. I did tear up while listening to this, because it does bring back memories of people I care about, memories I could have had with them and want still to have.
There is a thought in my mind that this is trance music, despite the speed of delivery. I so very much enjoyed this song Jaiko, thank you so much for pointing me in it's direction.
On the ending, which totally sold me on the idea that this is an excellent example of trance. You said in the description you don't feel so amazing about it. Well I do; it seemed to spin around and gyrate right into the snow and feelings my mind was swimming through. The falling apart of the different lines was done very very well; it left me feeling so forlorn I had to play this again. I assure you, I am going to be listening many more times. Thank you muches, Jaiko, it was so very kind of you to put this out here for us all to see and hear; and it doesn't fly between my ears how you personally directed me to this place that is so very special to you. Thank you for your generosity, and thank you thank you thank you some more.
Passion is a lovely thing to see these days, silly dragon :3.
