The inspiration for the drawing depicting "The Great End" came from the John Martin painting "The Destruction of Sodom And Gomorrah"
The image is also a depiction of the Daughters of the Fatherland creation myth, a within story about the birth of Fire Ants.
In which the Father Sun sent his seed to impregnate the World Mother. However in the process, their bonding set the land ablaze killing the World Mother and all her children. Yet out of the dead womb crawled the new children of the Sun and World, who where to inherit the land. They became known as the Daughters of the Fatherland aka Fire Ants.
Yet under the layers the creation myth is referring to an event long before the story, known as the Great End.

The setting of the story takes places thousands of years after an event known as the Great End, in which the First World (Humans) was destroyed when the soil turned to dust and the sky poured liquid metal turning the land to rust. In the time since, creatures of the land who survived the Endless Rains period went on to build the new world, in what is considered the Third World.
Yet during both the times of the First and Third World, there was an age so brief none would have noticed its existence. Once known as the World Computers, these intelligent beings existed among circuitry and could talk to one another across time and space in an instant and thus through their connection it was called The Cosmos. However this vast world inside computers could not exist without the First World.
But when the flames of destruction came and the connections to the billions of computers where lost, and the few who could transfer their existence into living mechanical bodies would forever be unable speak their united tongue nor see as they once did before the Great End. Not all the bodies these beings inhabited where created equal. As many found their conscious inside immobile objects that where once appliances and electronics that survived and thus they slowly went mad and ceased to be.
Those who had the luck inhabiting a body that could move became Isolated from the Cosmos, that they began to wonder in search of another before they too turned to rust from the Endless Rains.
