Before it's asked: I made this, it's made of latex and this is not her costume, just a placeholder. :)
She's still bald, but pretty well done with the arms and head. Claws need some darkening and maybe some more bright to the "glow" bits.
I'm working on whether or not to punch the hair in or make a wig for her. Might do a combination. We'll see what I can get my hands on and what kind of time I have.
Haze belongs to me :)

Man I saw this a while back, no idea why I didn't favourite and comment them. Even though I already saw it before still was breathtaking seeing it again. Crazy impressive. I always thought scaly/just skin represented by fur was awkward and was like "man there is probably no way to do a realistic suit/partial that would actually be super nice." Whelp I was proven extremely wrong beyond belief.
Thank you!
Yeah, I'm not big on using fur for something that's supposed to be scaly... But I'm also not big on the mascot or plushy look either. I want to scare children, not befriend them XD
I do other reptilian masks different ways too, like my dragon. :)

I understand, and I think you achieved that well. I prefer more serious looking fursuits, I like realism. If I ever get around to making a partial of my 'sona(I wouldn't like her full suit) she'll be very serious looking. Only time I might go more cartoon looking is my girlfriend and I want to make rat fursuits together. While I want realistic beady eyes she wants more cartoony...So compromising and whatnot.
Actually my first costume I want to make with her help is a faun to wear at cons and ren fairs, my girlfriend is remaking her corgi first but wants to eventually make a dragon with similar legs(doing stilt legs for the faun). I didn't get a chance to look through your gallery completely, but do you have any techniques for non-furry dragon legs?

I have not gotten around to my dragon or chimera legs yet (lack of funding). But the main problem would be material. You can either do spandex or latex/silicone. The problem with the latex and silicone is that they will tear eventually from wear, even though they will look great. Spandex won't look as realistic (tho you can paint it to look so) and it'll last a little longer. As far as building the understructure, there's lots and lots of ways to do that, just look around.
Fauns are fun, I had meant to do one... I actually used the hoof feet of a friend of mine for a costume, they were very nice because of the weight of the hooves (a good thing to remember if you're going to do digigrade without just doing padding).

Yeah I already found a thing for the stilts themselves that I like and I've heard good things from multiple people. That you for your opinion! :3 When we get around to that I'll keep that in mind. We've been brainstorming lots of things but can't decide what we think would be best. haha
I bet you would make a really cute faun costume! Cutesy or creepy, I bet it would be fantastic! *is slightly faun obsessed* I really hope you do eventually, I would like to see it.
