Seeing as I know nothing of artistic context, let's have a go shall we?
Rage is clearly not the subject, frustration is. Rage, in this instance, is merely a bi-product of an inabiliy to conduct an action confined within a comfort zone. Here the psychologically challeneged subject has had their freedom to act as a free individual removed, as portrayed by the straight-jacket. In that, the subject is attempting to behave in their usual free manner, but cannot because they have had the simplest of their freedom restricted - the freedom to interact with their environment as they may have done before.
Quite a sad piece really.

I do congratulate you in that very well examined interpretation. I had never even thought of that myself. But being one of my more interpretive pieces, there can be more than one reasoning behind the subject. Which I will still not reveal my own personal reasoning behind the depiction.
