Bandwagon, wheee.
I may have improved in how to use Photoshop, OpenCanvas and other programs better, but I seriously feel like my overall style got worse.
I think it has a bit to do with working in jobs with an awkward and ever changing schedule that I ran into the anime-ish corner and took the digital with me... doesn't take as long compared to drawing realistic.
My goal for 2010 is to get away from that and head back to the more realistic style like you see it up at 2004. I also want to use more traditional media again, I'm doing way too much stuff on the computer.

I'd have to agree that looking at that little sample, your work from 2004 was something of a detail peak and it very much looks like you haven't had the time or inclination to keep such dedication to your artwork. I would love to see more high quality stuff from you again, it's what got me hooked on your stuff, with the odd bit of digital thrown in there for fun stuff. The samples for 2006 and 2008 have a hint of your high quality traditional stuff but with a simplification that I think works quite well with some of your characters.
I do look forward to seeing more new stuff from you, the Jidane updates have been too few and too far apart lately.

I like the 2006 stuff the best too. It can be tricky finding a balance between style and detail/realism. Especially when you factor in color!
